Growing up I was lucky to come from a family that encouraged never being afraid to try something new. I was a well rounded kid in both sports and all kinds of visual and performing arts. Some of these hobbies fizzled out and some things stuck around, such as my love for any opportunity to be creative. I've always enjoyed putting together collages of pictures and symbols to express different ideas. I started out with magazine clippings and my own drawings, now I use online pictures as well as my own to continue creating.
I find that both collages and even simple images can be inspiring and empowering. The use of visuals allows anyone to understand an idea your trying to express as well as interpret it in their own way. I believe images can be very powerful and I like to use my own personal pictures to represent my lifestyle and beliefs. Although I am not a professional photographer or artist I think there is beauty in my visual expressions that stems from what inspires me. What inspires me is people who choose to live life exactly the way they want it. The people who refuse to follow a certain life path just because that path is what is expected. I admire the travelers, like Anthony Bourdain who explores and embraces different cultures. I admire the independent women like my mother, who beat past gender stereotypes and pursued the career she wanted to. I admire the artists, the free spirits, the hard-workers and the people who do whatever it takes to reach their dreams and goals. I hope to express myself through pictures and words on my own pursuit of happiness.
